FOREWORD

PREFACE

It is known that human beings have an incomparable talent in the act of creating, and at the same time destroying, but this is not the case, and less when you look at the content of these writings, The reasons or experiences that inspired those artists, but even more important in the level of emotions left in each one; which evokes a full commitment to the work of transforming that pain,

That despair or that burden that can be seen into a various product that is equally shared in the formal, and subjective aspect that a work of expression must have to be truly considered a realistic proposal. This is a literary production that can be enjoyed by anyone, especially those who need to release their feelings because of the hard theme on which these writings are based.

I trust that these stories will be a memory in the hands of people ,as proof of a difficult time and a description for those of the future who, wish to know about it. This is due to the information provided to us, and the effort put into dropping feelings from mind and heart to paper and pen.

VIRUS

Virus

Kang Zhou was finishing his shift at the hospital and was on his way out when something stopped him. He decided to check on a new patient that was admitted today, and his hospital room happened to be near the exit. When he was about to enter he heard someone talking and he immediately stopped. For some reason he stayed put and heard the man saying something about the patient, it seemed like he was on the phone. Kang found it really suspicious because he was talking about weird symptoms the patient was presenting and muttering constantly about keeping it a secret but he decided to leave before he got caught.

The next day he tried to go check on the patient again but he found the room empty, so he decided to ask about it but nobody would give him an answer and that only made Kang feel more worried because it was just not making sense. He couldn’t stop thinking about it so he decided to pay more attention to his coworkers and specially his boss. Until one day he overheard a conversation his boss was having on the phone about a case similar to the patient who vanished and at that the red flags in his head showed up brighter than ever. Why would his boss hide something regarding a patient? Why was he being so secretive about it? It wasn’t looking right but he continued to silently be attentive.

A week later the hospital was fuller than normal, like people decided to get sick at the same time. Kang caught onto what was happening because he paid attention to every single detail and he concluded that a virus, that was highly infectious, was spreading really fast and the government was just hiding this information from not only the country but the rest of the world and that made him feel scared of the full truth. Days passed and the situation was getting worse and people were starting to ask questions so he decided he had enough and tried to gather a lot of information, because it was time the world knew.

He prepared the camera and then pressed play. In the end he got a 20 minute video explaining everything he knew as best as he could and the only thing left to do was click “upload”, so that’s what he did and there was no turning back. When he went to work the next day, his boss immediately called him to his office and even though he was scared he tried to hide it on his way to the third floor. His boss was strangely calm and just asked him why did he uploaded that video but at some point while he was explaining he felt a needle on his neck and he blacked out. When he woke up, he was cuffed to a hospital bed and he could tell the door was locked, and after a few days he got sick. Something clicked. He had the virus, well more like they infected him but now he was in danger and nobody knew because they had him locked in a room. And he eventually died, even when he tried really hard to escape. Not knowing what the virus and these people had in store for the future.
The End.

TOGETHER UNTIL DEATH

TOGETHER UNTIL DEATH .

Luigi and Severa had one of the many love stories that transcends time, life circumstances and adversities. This, now elderly, couple met in the fifties, in the province of Bergamo, Italy.

Their story was very beautiful and began with a coincidence in a park in the province where Severa liked to go to meditate and think, in that place she could feel peace. That's how, one of those days with her in a Bench, she felt Luigi and from a few words they both saw each other.
Many conversations like the one in the park kept coming and with them also Luigi's desire to make Severa his wife. I am talking about an old-fashioned love when people still believed in commitment and marriage.
Luigi proposes to Severa who immediately accepted, and there begins the happy marriage that led to 60 years of union. Of which three children were born; Luisa, Dan and Luca. Severa was a dedicated and loving mother; and a caring and protective wife, and Luigi a responsible and disciplined father. Throughout the years their life was calm being a couple that understood each other quite well and whom loved their children.

More years passed and the golden anniversary came, which Severa and Luigi celebrated with their children with great pride. Sixty years of marriage also came as well as the grandchildren, four grandchildren that loved visiting them.
The marriage was happy most of the time, but the personalities from time to time put them in situations where they argued, but then everything ended with a hug. The year two thousand twenty arrived and with it the announcement of the birth of a virus, which later became a pandemic and affected most of the countries on earth. Severa, Luigi and
their children, like many people in Italy, did not feel that this was so serious and despite the fact that the news asked to have precaution and stay safe, they did not took it seriously.
The day comes when the news announced that Italy suffered a health crisis because a large number of people got infected with the virus and their clinics could not care for all the sick people. Severa woke up with flu symptoms and a severe headache as well as deep concern about being infected. The next day it was Luigi who presented the flu symptoms, their children took care of them for five days at home, until the disease got worse. it was difficult for them to breathe and the fever they had was very high, that is how they decided to take them to a hospital, but when they arrived they found the sad and worrying scenario of many people outside the hospital waiting without being able to be treated.

After waiting for several hours, they were admitted to the hospital and from that moment their children did not saw them again. After 3 days of fighting the virus in intensive care Severa died on April 11 two thousand and twenty at nine forty-five and with the age of eighty-two; and Luigi at eleven in the morning at the age of eighty-six. You can imagine the blow of pain it was for their children to lose their parents the same day, and then not to be allowed to say goodbye or bury them because they were taken to be cremated. They died alone because of the virus; nobody came close to the bodies in fear of getting infected.

I would like to say that this story has a happy ending but not everything in life resembles the fairytales. Their children miss them a lot but they know that they are together as they always were in life and that they fulfilled their promise; together until death.

I hope to hug you again

LOVE IN TIMES OF THE PANDEMIC

LOVE IN THE TIMES OF THE PANDEMIC

The following image is taken from the love story of Jeremy Cohen, which was viral news on social networks because this love story develops amid the current coronavirus pandemic.
In the image I can see two people standing on the street, they are a man and a woman looking at each other. The man is inside a kind of bubble. He is a bald man with a beard and white skin. He is holding a pink and orange bouquet of flowers in his left hand. He is wearing a blue, white and pink colored jacket, underneath he wears a gray sweater, he is also wearing black pants and white low top sneakers. He raises his right hand while smiling at the girl.
The girl is looking at him with a smiling face while joining her hand to his. She has black curly hair, she is white-skinned. Her hands have a kind of white gloves. She is dressed in an orange sweater with black and white stripes on one side of her arm. She has black pants and black sneakers with white laces.
Both are of similar stature, they are in a neighborhood setting, I can see the back of red car next to the girl, behind them are white, black, and brown walls. You can also see a kind of blue motorcycle behind the man.
They both look happy, even though they cannot really touch each other. They are having a date in the middle of all the chaos caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
In the image, I can see that the situation, the distance, the anguish or the fear does not matter. When you love someone you are able to make the impossible possible for those people.

Comments

For starters, the writing exercise is always a liberation exercise, from my point of view. It was an experience full of feelings, because its content is largely about difficult situations for us. I enjoyed having expressed what I felt and having read the productions of my classmates.

Writing these texts in collaboration with my teammates was a really fun process and it allowed me to improve my writing and teamwork, I think the end result really shows how we are holding up in this situation and I think creating stories and scenarios also allowed us to escape from reality a little and brought peace and courage to keep going.  It was really nice that my teammates resembled the same feelings because it made this journey easier.

We want to thank our teacher for giving us a new vision, about written, and helping us to have this process, realizing and entering those realities that are lived with this pandemic, and let us see that we can be creative in all our facets.
